Technical Service Philosophy DESIGN! Early design involvement by an experienced molding and assembly company such as Sapona can save product costs in the long run. Designing products for manufacture, failure mode effect analysis, mold flow analysis, rapid prototyping, designed experiments and capability studies are all tools we have available to ensure robust product design and manufacturability. We offer design consultation and mold sourcing to provide potential customers and ourselves with good running production jobs. We have Alibre Design 3D parametric solid modeling software and can import a variety of file types. We can also take on particularly tough molding jobs that captive shops may not have time ot focus efforts on and apply a continuous improvement approach to productivity and quality improvement. The product design stage is critical from the point of view of public responsibility. Design decisions impact production processes and often the content of municipal and industrial waste. Our design strategies anticipate growing environmental concerns and responsibilities. PROCESS! Our years of experience in medical molding have taught us the importance of good process control. Minor adjustments to the process are a necessary element of modern manufacturing, but can be minimized with closed loop process controls, regular mold and machine maintenance, top grade materials and well defined processes. Be assured that we will not make a significant change to the process without notifying the customer. We keep process and maintenance logs on all machines and molds and perform routine inspections every two hours. All of our machines have closed loop process controls and constant monitoring and feedback of critical paramenters. Molding machines are wired to a network for central monitoring and record keeping. Our on site tool shop keeps tools in top condition and at the correct revision.
QUALITY! Constant attention is given to following through with corrective and preventive actions when problems might occur. Our quality system is designed to detect problems, identify the root cause and prevent them from ever happening again. With our internal audit system, we regularly look for product, process and system problems. We have excellent communication methods including visual manufacturing boards and organized quality records. Training employees, especially new employees, is a critical and ongoing process. We are teachers empowering employees with the knowledge to correct and prevent problems. Control of defective or suspect product is an essential part of our procedures. Interuptions in molding cycle immediately classify the next several shots as defective to be segregated and disposed. Sapona Plastics is a UL recognized molder, UL Registration #A1939.
