Fire Prevention

List of potential fire hazards and ignition sources
  1. Flammable and Combustible Materials:
    • Plastic resins, powders, and pellets.
    • Solvents, cleaning agents, and lubricants used in machinery.
  2. Electrical Equipment and Wiring:
    • Motors, control panels, and wiring that can overheat or malfunction.
    • Improper or outdated electrical installations.
  3. Heating Equipment
    • Hot manifolds, extruders, and thermal machines.
    • Oven and dryer equipment used for drying plastic materials.
    • HVAC systems
    • Personal heaters
  4. Static Electricity:
    • Static buildup during handling of plastic powders and resins.
  5. Recycling and Scrap Material:
    • Accumulation of scrap plastic, trimmings, and dust.
  6. Waste Material Storage:
    • Flammable waste in dumpsters or storage areas near production zones.
  7. Maintenance and Repairs:
    • Hot work such as welding or grinding that can ignite flammable materials.
  8. Storage of Hazardous Chemicals:
    • Flammable solvents, cleaning agents, and other chemicals stored on-site.
  9. Malfunctioning Equipment or Processes:
    • Overheating equipment, leaks, or malfunctions that could lead to fires.
  10. Inadequate Housekeeping:
    • Clutter, dust, or debris that can facilitate fire spread.
  11. Hot work –
    • Welding, brazing and torch use
    • Purging
  12. Smoking
    • Smoke only in designated areas outside the building.
