Responsibilities: Operator Job Description
• To package and label quality products, while ensuring efficiency and quantity levels per the defined production rate per part. Reports to the Supervisor and performs duties as directed.
Qualifications:
• Legible handwriting skills required.
• Must understand and comprehend verbal instructions.
• Must be capable of heavy lifting, as required.
Job Duties:
• Maintain a neat and clean work area.
• This includes cleaning the machine and surrounding area. Sweeping and mopping as directed
by the Supervisor.
• Work in a safe and effective manner.
• Performs semi-automatic or automatic operation of a molding press or other equipment, and assembly.
• This may require manual opening and closing of the machine door in a constant, stable manner to assure a timely cycle and quality parts.
• Visual inspection per the Quality Plan of parts produced prior to packing.
• Proper packing to provided specifications to prevent distortion or shipping damage.
• Must be able to perform multiple duties and operate different jobs as required by the production schedule.
• Must be able to perform assembly operations, such as manual assembly of plastic components,
labels etc. and then completing the packaging.
• Responsible for completing product labels; that includes operator initials, date, and sequential numbering for product identification and traceability purposes.
• Requires sealing, taping and pallet stacking of product; which can involve heavy lifting requirements.
• Informs Supervisor of any product quality or machine problems in a timely manner.
• Communicates with relief floor operator and on-coming shift operator about how to perform the tasks and highlight the problems to watch for.
• The above listed duties in no way exclude any job related request of the immediate supervisor.
